El poder de la vulva (vulva power), graphic exhibition by Marita Ilia Rodriguez Glazunov

During my stay at Taller Santa Rosa, I co-organized together with the artist Gabriela Flores an exhibition of the graphic work of Marita Rodríguez, a lesbofeminist activist, graphic artist, and dear friend. Marita has also been one of my most meaningful mentors in life. Beyond her trajectory as a union, feminist, and grassroots organizer in Peru, her ethical integrity and political commitment have deeply shaped the way I understand the social complexities that transverse our dissident bodies.The exhibition allowed me to engage more closely with her history within the Latin American feminist movement and with her long-standing practice of street-based graphic activism. Bringing her stencils, materials, and visual strategies into the space made it possible to foreground not only her contributions to feminist and popular movements, but also the sensitivity, rigor, and rebellious imagination that animate her practice.
