The revolution of the objects
gorup exhibition, 2023

This series of works were created upon the invitation to participate in the exhibition of the contemporary art laboratory Haciendo Contexto VI at proyectoamil.

“La revolución de los objetos ”
Videoperformance
1’ 11”
2023

Artist Rodrigo Gomez Olivos and I reinterpreted one of the famous chronicles of the conquest of America in which Atahualpa throws the bible sent by the colonizers after not being able to hear “the word of god” from it.  Together with Rodrigo, we decided to invite two friends to reproduce Atahualpa’s action with two other objects, a stone and a high heel shoe, still representative of the essentialist ideals of ancestry and femininity.

Phantasmagories”
Installation of twisted and folded paper strips on the wall
8 mts x 3.5 mts
2023

As part of my experimentation with written surfaces, I cut into strips the manual reproduction of a signage poster to hide a protest message and play with the materiality of the paper. The projection of shadows from the twisting I forced on the strips reminded me of the way narratives can be represented and how a life can be transformed by slightly changing the way it can be read. With this set of paper bodies, I tried to capture the ghost that inhabits the abandoned basement of the Camino Real Shopping Center, headquarters of Proyecto Amil where I had the opportunity to occupy a workshop space for a few months. This work seeks to animate the apparently immobile.

Servicios(fake trades)
site specific
2023

Starting from the frustrating political context that the country is going through, I choose the telephone number of 3 public institutions that are a failure for any citizen, the congress of the republic, the government palace and the anti-corruption division of the police; to then place them under the heading of “SERVICES”. After this first intervention, I progressively invited the public attending proyectoamil to choose a false or dreamed job for the subsequent publication of their “services” advertisement in some available display window of the abandoned Camino Real Shopping Center.
